BACOLOD CITY – A 13-year-old boy died after he drowned in Barangay E. Lopez, Silay City, Negros Occidental on Thursday, July 6. Police withheld the name of the minor victim. According to Police Lt. Col. Mark Anthony Darroca, Silay police chief, the victim and his 11-year-old friend were playing in the area when the incident happened. Darroca said that the victim could have slipped and fell into a deep hole with water. A fisherman saw the victim in the water and sought for assistance, he added. The victim was declared dead in a hospital while his companion was unharmed and is in a state of shock, Darroca said.
