VILLAVERDE, Nueva Vizcaya – Four persons, including three minors, were arrested by the police for robbing the library of the Bintawan National High School in Bintawan Sur here of gadgets on Wednesday, July 19. Police arrived at the crime scene and saw blood on the floor. They scoured medical facilities here and found the suspects Two 17-year-old suspects were apprehended when they admitted involvement in the crime through a discernment test by social workers. Their 14-year-old companion was also taken into custody and will be turned over to the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office here for appropriate intervention. The fourth suspect of legal age will undergo inquest proceedings for the crime of robbery. Police said the suspects carted away 14 tablets and three laptops. However, only seven tablets and two laptops with an estimated value of P301,000 were recovered by authorities. Police Brig. Gen. Percival Rumbaoa, Police Regional Office-2 director, lauded the immediate response of Villaverde PNP on the incident. “It is a testament that Villaverde Police Station is committed in the conduct of aggressive law enforcement operations which is encapsulated in the five-focused agenda of the Chief PNP in ensuring the safety and security of the community,” Rumbaoa said.
