The office of House Speaker Martin Romualdez and Tingog Party-list have inaugurated two new Alagang Tingog Centers (ATC) in the province of Cebu over the weekend. Successfully opened last Saturday, July 29 was an ATC in Springwood District, Mandaue City, Cebu and another one in Barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City. The inaugurations were made possible through the help of Mandaue City lone district Rep. Emmarie "Lolypop" Ouano-Dizon, and Cebu City 2nd district Rep. Eduardo "Edu" Rama, respectively. The ATC--the brainchild of Tingog Party-list Rep. Yedda Marie Romualdez--is a social service-slash-public outreach center. "By decentralizing these services and ensuring local management through ATCs, the initiative aims to bridge the gap between the government and the marginalized communities, making a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need," the party-list said in a statement. Aside from the opening of the ATCs, the Speaker's office and Tingog Party-list, in coordination with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), also conducted an offsite payout at the Barangay Opao Gym. Some 1,100 families received P5000 each as cash assistance for their daily needs. Rep. Romualdez, wife of Speaker Romualdez, shared in her message that she was a Cebuana herself, having studied in the city. She thanked the local officials from different barangays for giving their support, as well as the DSWD for providing constant aid. "It is only right that we also support you" she said. "Even without the election yet, thank you for your trust and confidence... just always remember, Tingog will always be present" added the lady solon, who chairs the House Committee on Accounts.
