Roman Catholics will observe Good Shepherd Sunday on May 8, which coincides with the 58th World Day of Prayer for Vocations.

Commemorative masses will be held at the Cathedral Shrine of the Good Shepherd on Regalado Avenue, Quezon City, the seat of the Roman Catholic bishop of the Diocese of Novaliches.

With the theme Gifted to Give, Pasig Bishop Mylo Hubert Vergara will preside over the holy mass at 7:30 a.m. It will be followed by the karakol.

Novaliches Bishop Emeritus Antonio Tobias will lead the Eucharistic celebration at 9 a.m.

Novaliches Bishop Roberto O. Gaa will officiate the Holy Mass at 12 noon. Holy masses will also be held at 8 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 3 p.m., 4:30 p.m., 6 p.m., and 7:30 p.m.

On May 9, Monday, the cathedral shrine will offer a Holy Mass followed by the holy hour at 12 noon for the national and local elections.

The Catholic Church also marks on Sunday, May 8, the 58th World Day of Prayer for Vocations which calls on the faithful to pray for more vocations to the priesthood and religious life.
