Actor Robin Padilla continues to pace the senatorial race in the count being conducted by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) en banc, which is sitting as the National Board of Canvassers, at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC).
And in the count of party-list groups, the Anti-Crime and Terrorism Community Involvement and Support Partylist (ACT-CIS) was also ahead of the pack, followed by 1-Rider, Tingog, and Ako Bicol party-list groups.
Comelec welcomed reports that the count being conducted by citizen arm Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) was about 100-percen match with the election returns it was receiving.
The PPCRV also said it was extending operations, saying it had more than enough volunteers to accomplish its task.
And in sports, the University of the Philippines (UP) ended a 36-year title drought in UAAP men’s basketball after guard JD Cagulangan hit a three-pointer as time was about to expire to lift the Fighting Maroons to an epic 72-69 overtime triumph over defending champion Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU).
