After three grueling months, contenders for 16,385 elective seats wind-up their respective campaigns heading into the May 9 national and local elections.

The Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) said it was expecting a high voter turnout of 85 percent on Monday, even as the Office for Civil Defense (OCD) and National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) going on red alert status to ensure Covid-free elections.

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) designated an acting spokesperson in Atty. John Rex C. Laudiangco.

Meanwhile, the six locals, who were exposed to the country’s first Covid-19 variant Omicron case, tested negative for the coronavirus.
