OCTA Research fellow Dr. Guido David, in a Twitter post, disclosed that the National Capital Region (NCR) and the entire CALABARZON had negative one-week growth rates in COVID-19 infections.

“NCR, Batangas, Cavite, Laguna, Quezon, and Rizal at moderate risk with one week growth rates in new COVID-19 cases. As trends continue to improve in NCR and CALABARZON, the public is advised to continue to observe health protocols,” said David.

However, while the growth rate continues to decline, the positivity rate remained “very high” in several parts of CALABARZON.

Among the areas with “very high” COVID-19 positivity rates were Batangas (23 percent) and Laguna (26 percent), while Metro Manila (15 percent), Cavite (17 percent), Quezon (19 percent), and Rizal (18 percent) were categorized with “high” COVID-19 positivity rates.
