
The Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) is set to conduct public interviews starting March 1 of 14 applicants to two vacant associate justice posts in the Court of Appeals (CA).
To be interviewed on March 1 are Mandaluyong City regional trial court (RTC) Judge Edilwasif T. Baddari, Zamboanga City RTC Judge Shaldilyn B. Bangsaja, Binan City RTC Judge Eleuterio L. Bathan, and Carmona, Cavite RTC Judge Niven R. Canlapan.
On March 2, to be interviewed are Manila RTC Judge Maria Celestina C. Cruz-Mangrobang, Amado Paolo C. Dimayuga who is a managing partner at Dimayuga Law Offices, Dinalupihan in Bataan RTC Judge Maria Lourdes T. Eltanal-Ignacio, and SC Deputy Clerk of Court Corazon G. Ferrer-Flores who is also chief of the Supreme Court’s (SC) Fiscal Management and Budget Office (FMBO).
Set for interview on March 3 are Antipolo City RTC Judge Mary Josephine P. Lazaro, Makati City RTC Judge Robert Victor C. Marcon, corporate lawyer Gregorio M. Nunag Jr., and Baguio City RTC Judge Mia Joy C. Oallares-Cawed.
Two applicants are set for interview on March 4. They are Marikina City RTC Judge Acerey C. Pacheco and Quezon City RTC Judge Jocelyn A. Solis Reyes.
There are 25 other applicants to the two vacant CA positions but their past interviews were still valid, the JBC said. Most of them are trial court judges.
They are Josephine M. Advento, Selma P. Alaras, Snooky Maria Ana C. Bareno Sagayo, Mariam G. Bien, Marietta S. Brawner Cualing, Jaime Fortunato A. Caringal, Cresenciana DC Cruz, Jerry B. Dicdican, Madonna C. Echiverri, Olivia V. Escubio Samar, Arginald Julius C. Esguerra, Marissa P, Estabaya, Edilu P. Hayag,
Mary Charlene V. Hernandez Azura, Raymond Joseph G. Javier, Rogelio G. Largo, John Z. Lee, Catherine P. Manondon, J. Ermin Ernest Louie R. Miguel, Rosalyn D. Mislos Loja, Lily Ann M. Padaen, Rex Bernardo L. Pascual, Eduardo S. Ramos Jr., Rosanna Fe A. Romero Maglaya, and Romeo D. Tagra.
The applicants are for the CA posts vacated by Associate Justice Japaar B. Dimaampao who was promoted to the SC on July 2, 2021 and Associate Justice Dorothy P. Montejo Gonzaga whose resignation was accepted on Nov. 2, 2021.
The announcement on the interview by JBC – the constitutional office that accepts, screens and nominates appointments to the judiciary – was made by Marife M. Lomibao Cuevas, SC clerk of court and council ex-officio secretary.
