One of the priests of the National Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Makati has tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

The Shrine revealed this in a Facebook post on Monday, Jan. 3.

Due to this, the Shrine announced that it will be temporarily be closed from Jan. 4 to 17 for disinfection.

“The National Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe will be closed starting tomorrow, Jan. 4, 2022 until Jan. 17, 2022 because one of our priests tested positive for the COVID-19 virus,” read the post.

“During the closure, thorough disinfection and intensive sanitation will be done. Churchgoers are requested to refrain from coming to the shrine,” it further read.

The Shrine said online masses will continue as scheduled.
